I'm as sad as I can be. My human sister, Sister Joy, passed away. It was cancer, just like I had.
I asked Ma, why couldn't Sister Joy come live with us at K-9 Town, but Ma says she's gone to another place where she'll be as happy as we all are here. It's called Heaven.
Ma's full of sadness too, and she's worried about Babee. She sent him to me so we could console each other.
As Babee headed towards me, his head was hanging low. I realized that I needed to put my grief aside for my baby brother.
We went for a walk, then settled into a peaceful spot and cuddled. We didn’t need words; we understood
how each other felt.
Then Sister Joy's melodious voice echoed through the woodlands, lovingly urging us to rise. She promised that we would always hear her because she would remain in our hearts.
A cloud had lifted. Babee and I stood and shook the sadness away like Sister Joy told us to.
We'll be okay. She'll always be with us.
