Poodle Sophie's Recollection

Me and Major Diggs peeped in on Sophie and the puppies. She was telling 'em about when we first started K-9 Town. We don't often get those tykes to quiet down like that, but Sophie knows her stuff.

Ma's alter ego, Ma O, is over at our YouTube channel, "Adventures at K-9 Town," tellin' it like Sophie did. We're gathering the pack and goin' over there. We swore to behave. Don't want her gettin' after us.

Come along.

Babee's New Friend

Babee came for a visit. After we made the usual fuss over him, he and his friends scampered off. That's okay. Truth be told, they're never out of our sights.

They came back a while later with some young Tree Ogres. The saplings and our young, get along good.

Babee introduced me to his new best friend, Symmatree.

I'm proud of my baby brother, because he knows that best friends come in all shapes, sizes and colors... No message there... Just sayin'.

Mellow Memories - Did I ever tell you about the time

I can't say too much about Babee getting into a little trouble now and then. When I was at home with Ma, I did my share. Of course, she had a way of making me regret stuff I did, that I knew I shouldn't have. Babee's still learning that part.

Here's one that got me in plenty trouble. Couldn't get out of it. Nothing worked. She should've cared about what I went through before gettin' up the nerve, but she didn't. Bowed head, sad eyes, none of it! I had time to practice before she caught me, but that didn't help either. So there I was, again...

On lockdown, but it wasn't my fault

Ma left the meatloaf on the table

I didn't tell that phone to ring

But I was sure grateful, Aunt Mable.

Belly full, I wasn't thinking clearly. I've never been able to bow gracefully. I should have known better. And I couldn't make my eyes look sad after what I'd done. So off I went, into the "room of shame." (Disregard my comfortable chair, the toys, and the bones.)

After "the incident" I dreamed about meatloaf for a long time.

Still do. Yum, yum!

"Ma O" tells it better

We're on our way over to our YouTube channel. Ma's alter ego, Ma O, is tellin' everybody what happened at our ball playin' tryouts.

I gave my talk about misbehavin'. We'll see what happens. We're a pretty wild bunch. Ma says we're "Hams." Don't know what that means. Can't be too bad if she's callin' it.

"Stop that crooning Lufa, this ain't about you!"

There's Ma O. This is gonna be good. See you on the other side.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day, from K-9 Town!

Babee spent some time with his friends and me, but it's time for him to get back home to Ma. He's plain tuckered out and I can tell he's starting to miss her.

We picked out the perfect Momma's Day present for her.

A beautiful plant. She's gonna love it!

To all the Ma's out there... Have a great day.

It wasn't us

Those two mischievous boys, Rottie Brady and Pitbull Sammy are in big trouble. Some of the Females are after them again, and they don't look happy.

I found 'em hiding over at GottaLuvEm. They're popular over there. I'm not helping 'til they confess what they did. As usual, they're sayin'...

"It wasn't us."

I'm thinkin' on it

Ma says it's the time of year when everybody's enjoying the outside more. Here's an idea we came up with....

What about honoring your special family cook or griller with an apron that represents us, here at K-9 Town. Check us out over at "Gotta Luv Em."

Let the games begin!

I'm waiting on Babee. Ma says he's full of energy and needs to be around me and some of his young friends here at K-9 Town a while. We had a meeting and decided to let them referee the ballgames comin' up.

The young referees have been practicing calls and can't wait to show Babee. He'll be leading them in no time. They've added some body language us elders wouldn't even attempt.

This is gonna be a hoot!

Here comes Babee. Always good to see my baby brother.

Babee: There's Omar. He's looking good. Ma says I look like a mini Omar. I like that. This is gonna be big fun. Me and my friends are ready. After all, we refereed the puppy games last time... The grown-up players are gathering. They better listen to us... those are the rules.

There're some outsiders looking on too. Nasty the Grizzly with one of his friends... They know better than to start trouble.

Omar: Let The Tryouts Begin!! We have teams and singles.

Here's last years champs. They're the team to beat, looking better than ever. Look at 'em go.

These two have such good moves that the champs have already claimed them. Gonna take a good team to beat this bunch.

Talk about a good team.....

These are my friends all the way from Facebook's Rottweiler & Company (All Breed Group) page. They've been practicing for weeks and now they're showing their stuff. We'll be watching them closely. The jokesters have a way of planting look-a-like balls in the field... All in fun. Let's see how the refs handle them. Woof, woof.

Okay referees, let's see some singles!

This is JJ Pinscher. Look at that move. You can see why all the teams are watching him. They ain't seen nothing yet!

Wait a minute! What's going on... One of the puppy teams tried to slip through. Ahhhaha. It didn't work. The mad tykes are being led off the field. This is the team that got time-out for unnecessary roughness last season. Maybe they would do okay. Ahhhaha. Just kidding. Their games will start when it gets a little warmer.

There's Afghan Bee Bee, showing one of her remarkable moves. She's somethin' else. Real tough.

See Bruno over there. He's waiting for his team. They're always late. Don't let the size fool you. Small and fast, with moves that spellbind the rest of us...

"Over here, Bruno! We're ending tryouts for today. Find a spot and settle down. The celebration will start soon!"

Uh Oh! The Grizzlies heard me. They're coming this way. Can't trust them one bit. We ain't that friendly. Time to talk boundaries again...

Anyway. See you at the games.

The Rotties are Coming

I was looking out from one of my favorite spots, taking in the fresh air and beauty of it all. I’m mighty thankful.

I let out a soft growl when I noticed a dark spot approaching. “Umm, what’s that.” Leaning forward, with squinted eyes, I made ‘em out. What a surprise! It was Rottie Brady’s half-sibling Brock, and lots more of his kin. I ran down, to tell the others.

Knowing some excitement was in store, the energetic wails and howlings lit the wilderness.

A stone-faced pack of fierce dogs strode into K-9 Town. Without a woof, they eyed us with penetrating stares, under furrowed brows. We didn’t object because of who they were. It was their way of sensing stress... They came to wage war on our enemies.

Determining there were no worries here, tense muscles and jaws relaxed.

The packs began mixing with friends they hadn’t seen in a while as leader Brock, known for his hot temper and ability to back it up, ambled over to Brady and me. “Heard you’al were having some trouble… Anything left for us to handle?”

“What do you think!” Brady barked feigning annoyance with narrowed eyes and a brassy sigh. He had bearly got the words out when Brock returned his wisecrack with a snickering grunt, then with blurred quickness and agility, pounced on his half-sibling, roaring, “Here’s what I think!”

The gleeful duo tumbled across the field in a knot, tussled, did some snarling, then repeated each move as the rest of us vigorously cheered them on. When they finally tuckered out - chests heaving, tongues dangling - we were as drained as they were.

We all laid out together while I told how the trip to visit my kin turned into a wild adventure.

The Rottweilers listened intently, practically disregarding the mountain lions – more interested in Iron Dog Land, King and Queen Nitro and Saifon, and the warrior eagle McZen.

Until then, they thought it all a myth. Finding out that was my home, Ma and Pa and eternal mentor, rendered them speechless. We agreed they would go along the next time we visited.

After an update from Brock on what the daring Rotties had been up to lately, with warm goodbyes, our good friends departed.

I went back to my secluded spot and watched with unbridled fondness as another extension of my K-9 Town family, faded into the mist.

There Was No Place Like Home

Woof, woof! Ma O's gone and done it! Finally. She's tellin' about the end of our trek to meet my kin at Iron Dog Land. A lot happened up in those woodlands. We'll see if she leaves anything out... I doubt it though. Hope you all have been keepin' up.

My baby brother, Babee Blue, brought the news. There he is over there, lookin' like a young me.

We'll see you on the other side.

No way he could stay

As the Pack’s journey to meet Omar Blue’s kin comes to an end...

Excerpt:

Omar was with his mom and dad
Nitro and Saifon Blue
who were gazing out at Iron Dog Land
but watching Omar too.
We know you’ve gotta leave son
though we wish that you could stay
we’re proud of the life you’re living
but don’t like you being away.
We’re glad you brought you’re pack along
we wanted to see them too
we needed to know they were brave and bold
and would always stand with you.
Saifon snarled and gave a look
that Omar knew so well
those mountain lions were lucky
they got to live and tell.
Omar woofed to his mom and dad
don’t you worry about me
I can’t say why I had to leave
it was fate that made me flee.
That special bond between us
will keep telling you I’m okay
but I gotta get back to the home I’ve built
