Omar Blue, Chihuahua Taco and Family Love

Hi everyone. We’ve been pretty busy lately.
You’ve met one of the K-9 Town Chihuahua families, no nonsense (sometimes) Paco, feisty Conchita and their pups, Lee, Lii and Luu, the puppy leaders.

Well, Paco and Conchita came to me with a problem.

They wanted me to find a way for Paco’s uncle, Taco, to visit K-9 Town.

They hadn’t seen him in a long time and missed him very much. Taco had never met Lee, Lii and Luu, which was something that weighed heavily on them.

Family is something we treasure here at K-9 Town, so I immediately started thinking about how I could make this happen.

In addition, the females had gathered.

They had heard stories about uncle Taco’s life and how he and his human Mom, Jackie Stewart, helped others trying to keep their communities safe. As usual, the females were ready to offer some of their one-of-a-kind nurturing.

The K-9 Town males, stayed back, smiling and making jokes, knowing that the females would get their way, though in this matter Paco and Conchita didn’t need their support.

All of us relished the thought of hearing some of the “Tales of the City” that Taco would surely tell.

The next step was to contact Ma and my baby brother, Babee Blue.

Ma agreed that we had to get Taco to K-9 Town. She contacted Taco’s mom Jackie, who agreed it would do Taco good to get away for a short time, though she would miss him very much.

Babee was soon on his way. He was looking forward to seeing his little friend and getting him to K-9 Town.

When Babee arrived, Taco was surprised to see him because their usual meetings were done travelling through Facebook. “Hi Babee. It’s good to see you. What’s up,” he asked.

As Babee explained why he was there. The mention of Taco’s family at K-9 Town brought undeniable excitement.

After many kisses, hugs and “I’ll be back soons,” to his Mom, Taco was ready to go.

Then it was up to Ma!  How she does it I don’t know, because she won’t tell.

Babee Blue and Taco got here safe and sound.  We had all been waiting but we gave Taco a chance to visit with his family.  Paco, Conchita and uncle Taco could be heard whooping it up, until they finally were ready to share him.

Puppies Lee, Lii and Luu weren’t happy because they wanted uncle Taco to play with them forever.

He was dressed and looking quite dapper as he started spinning his tales.  Like his nephew Paco, once he started there was no stopping him.

A few of the females were vying for his attention, and they were getting it.  That cool rascal knew how to handle himself.

We loved it!  We all wished Taco could stay with us, but he said he’d miss Ms. Jackie too much.  I knew how he felt. I miss Ma even though we’ll never lose our connection. Ma won’t let that happen.

As all fun stuff must end, it was time for me to get Taco back home. We had a chance to chat.

The main thing is, Taco knows he has lots of family here at K-9 Town, because we’re all family. We hope he’ll visit again soon and often. He promised he would and we believe him.

Especially the Fiesta Sisters….

Come back soon.

Omar Blue and the K-9 Town Apparitions

Omar Blue

Some of our morning meetings are watched by wilderness apparitions. They are all around us. Some good, some bad.

At times, they go after each other.

It's funny because there is nothing for any of their ghost like images to hang onto.

If you look closely, you'll see this morning's onlookers.

Let Them Know You Care

They feel they’ve been forgotten
We know that isn’t so
We love them more than ever
Though they seem not to know.

Through life’s never ending struggles
Priorities get lost
Our beloveds then take second stage
At overwhelming cost.

Now comes a way to bring good thoughts
That last through lonesome times
I relay your everlasting love
Through storytelling and rhymes.
