Omar Blue and the Worrying Ma

Hello everyone. We're happy to have you back with us.

Omar and Babee Blue are excited. Some of their friends are stopping by. The boys are taking them to K-9 Town to meet Omar's pack. They love it when Omar brings friends from the neighborhood to visit.

The females discuss the differences in their lifestyles. The males sit around and spin tall tales.

Babee is almost as large as Omar now. I thought I was literally seeing him grow from day to day.

He wants me to tell one of my stories from before he was born. He's asking about when I found out Omar was pack leader and often had to leave home to be with his pack.

Babee Blue is so funny.  He's picking out the best snacks to entice their guests. Not knowing, I'm known to Omar's buddies for telling the best "true tales" ever. No enticement needed, but I won't tell him. Lol.

They're here! What a handsome group they are. I'm going to ask Omar if their parent, Ju Sa, knows where they are.

He'll say, "Of course, Ma."

I don't put much faith in that answer and the look he'll give me while saying it, but I don't take it any further because everything about my Omar Blue is incredible. I'm happy to be a part of this canine world that only the humans I tell, know about.

I don't interfere. Not often, anyway.

Omar: "Come on in, you all. Ma says it's okay!"

They're all here now and finally settled in. Some of our frequent visitors, like Dr. Watson from next door, spend so much time here, he thinks he's at home. This is his favorite spot.

Now back to Babee's question. How did I feel when I first found out about K-9 Town and Omar Blue's independent obligations.

I remember so well. When Omar opened up to me about his responsibilities as leader and his love for his pack and the town they started I worried day and night. But the more I learned about the love, friendships, loyalties and strength that made up the K-9 Town population, my sole purpose was to become involved.

Babee has asked about my initial feelings.  I'll stick to the subject.

This is just one aspect of life at K-9 Town. I'll keep it short.

Omar often told me
Of walks he'd take alone
While at his beloved K-9 Town
I wished his pack had known.

He said he'd walk for hours
Sometimes be gone all day
To see what threats await his pack
To handle them his own way.

He said these were mainly thoughtful strolls
But I knew that wasn't quite true
He was looking for signs of danger
How I wished the others knew.

His pack would have been right by his side
Rain, sleet, sun or snow
It wouldn't have been that thoughtful stroll
But at least the others would know.

I'm happy to say that didn't last long. Once the others found out what Omar was doing, they started patrolling the outskirts too. Just like Omar, they would go alone and sometimes be gone for long periods.

Omar told me in the beginning that from smallest to tallest, his pack is the bravest, when needed most vicious, canines I could ever imagine. You'll agree, they've proven themselves many times.
All they want is to be left alone to live the wonderful lifestyle they've created for themselves and each other.

They've made the other creatures of the wilderness aware of this. Sometimes the hard way.

Omar, Babee and their friends are on their way now. I see some of the pack were waiting outside to escort them back to K-9 Town. Omar doesn't take any chances with his neighborhood friends.

Who knows what excitement and adventure awaits them.

Might be another "true tale" in the making. I hope so.
