K9 Town Christmas Party A Total Success!!

Omar Blue had his Christmas party
Dogs came from far and wide
I’d never seen so many
But I rushed them all inside.

When I took in some of Omar’s friends
Their people parents were suspicious
So I gave each one of my special rumcakes
A bit more than delicious.

After this, I went to K-9 Town
Please don’t ask how I did
But as soon as I got to the Christmas Party
I found a place and hid

What a party those canines were having
At K-9 Town, USA
When Santa and Omar finally appeared
With reindeers pulling the sleigh.

But the puppies were sleeping
 No fault of their own
They’d been running and playing all day.

So Santa went over
Left each a big treat
And was on his merry way.

Back to the party Santa Claus went
What a way to end his night
With Omar, his pack and their canine friends
He danced until first light.

When Santa Claus was about depart
He took time out to say
“Ho, Ho, Ho! What A Merry Christmas”
Then Santa was on his way.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
FROM OMAR BLUE, HIS PACK
AND THEIR MANY FRIENDS
-----
You probably didn't notice, Santa had only four reindeer on his trip home. Rudolph and another reindeer were having such a good time, they decided to stay until they were sure the party was over. Santa didn't mind. He knew they would be well taken care of.
As for me, I may have dosed off for a minute and that's all it took to find myself back at home with another fond memory of Omar Blue and K9 Town, USA

K9 TOWN CHRISTMAS PARTY - ALL DOGS WELCOME

Ma said yes. Just left K9 Town. They're having fun getting things ready.

I decided to give in and help out with the Christmas Party at K9 Town. Especially since Santa Claus had already said he'd be there. Some of Omar's friends are already waiting impatiently.

Is it Christmas Eve yet? Is it Christmas Eve yet? Is it.....

This is Bulldog Homer Spero. His first time away from home. I had to make my "Don't Worry About A Thing Rum Cake" a little stronger for his people mom Carolee but she says she wants him to have friends, so he can spend the night with Omar. Homer is so happy. Isn't he cute.

Are these two ready or what?

Guiness Goheen and Lucy Grim. Couldn't be a party without those two. The female Elders can't wait for them to get to K9 Town.

"I'm going now while brother Casper is organizing the Show Dogs getting there."

We all know Scarlett. Between her and Lucy Grim, I think Omar has his hands full. Talk about "party animals." I don't worry because Omar and his pack are always watching over them, though from what Omar tells me they can pretty much take care of themselves.

I could go on and on but I'd better get back to my baking. Omar is still out making sure all his friends and any other canines he may meet, are coming to his Christmas Party.

OMG! I'm looking out my window. I don't know how he got here but he's looking for Omar. It's the K9 Town puppies' potbelly piglet best friend Dukie and he's on a mission.

Is the Christmas Party here?

Luckily Omar was right behind him.  He talked to Dukie for a moment then off they went. Omar says mom and dad potbelly pigs Sookie and Mookie weren't far behind. They all want to come to the Christmas Party. I don't know how he's going to handle this one but as usual, he's not worried.

"Can we come, Omar?"

Again, back to my baking. I have a feeling I'm going to need lots of my special cakes  this year. I'll keep you posted.

I'm back. Where's Ma?

Ma gave me my own Facebook page for Christmas. Visit me at http://www.facebook.com/cynthia.luhrs#!/Omarblue2 I've been over there making lots of new friends. My Christmas party at K9 Town is going to be pretty big. Hope Ma has a plan for the people parents. She usually gets them with her "Don't Worry About a Thing Rum Cake." She'll think of something. She loves meeting my friends.

Ummm, this feels good. Think I'll lay right here til she comessss....

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

I was recently tagged by author of horror, fantasy and fiction Pam Kinney to participate in The Next Big Thing, where authors answer ten questions about their works in progress. If you aren't familiar, visit her at Fantastic Dreams of Pamela K. Kinney. Browse her site to see what she's up to and see some really fantastic/weird/unique photos.

In turn I tagged an excellent author for next week's post. Angie Merriam. Always busy, she is a writer of the Neveah fantasy trilogy which has been described as having the magic of J.K. Rowling and the sexual tension of Nora Roberts. I had the honor of being featured in an anthology she compiled, "Intertwine." I've told you about it. You can visit her @ http://angiemerriam.webs.com/apps/blog/show/20855806.

Thank you Pam for asking what I'm up to. I'll tell you:

What is the working title of my book?

It's already published and the name of my most recent work is "Led By An Eagle."

Where did the idea come from for my book?

It's a continuation of my saga about my doberman Omar Blue and his fictitious (can't say that too loud) pack. After writing the first book, different situations to put Omar and his pack in, come very easy to me. They're lifestyles are in tune with human lifestyles and their feelings for each other are what we all wish for in our true world. I can look at a picture or hear someone talking about something they did with friends or family and ideas for my canine's stories pop into my head.

What genre does "Led By An Eagle" fall under?

I call it family fantasy for all ages. Eight to ninety-four are the ages I've covered, taking into consideration the readings to children, adults and senior citizens in hospitals and assisted living communities. They don't like us because we're available, they geniunely love my story and most even pick out favorite characters. I could go on and on about these events but I'll save that for another time. What a good time my daughter Joy and I have reading about Omar Blue and his pack.

What actors would I choose to play my characters in a movie rendition?

I think we'd better make it one of those "Shek" type movies so we can let the imagination run wild.

What is a one sentence synopsis of "Led By An Eagle?"

Family love, the strongest bond, is what prevails in Omar Blue's pack and strenghtens them against all odds.

Where did I submit for publication?

I am self-published in paperback and e-book form. This book can be purchased through Amazon.com, Kindle e-books and other popular distributors.

How long did it take to write the first draft of my manuscript?

A few months. I really never stopped thinking about add ons to my Omar Blue saga.

What other books would I compare my story to?

I've read, and liked, other books about animals but they are not enough like mine to compare. I think my saga and my characters are unique. Those who have read it agree.

What else about your book might pique the readers interest?

My stories, Led By An Eagle, and Omar Blue and K-9 Town, USA, are told in rhymes.
The smooth flow of my poetry enhances the readers enjoyment whether reading alone or to others.

Who or what inspired me to write this book?

My inspiration comes from the need to be creative and my love for writing. I love writing fantasy. In fantasy you have to explain "why things happen" but you don't have to explain "how things happen." Thank goodness, because I'd be in big trouble, ha, ha.
